A drunken-driving suspect got so impatient in the all-night drive-through line at Burger King, 950 E. Big Beaver Road, that she intentionally bashed into the car in front of her that was waiting for food, police said.
When police caught up with the 49-year-old woman from Sterling Heights, she told officers, “I’m sorry about what happened,” said Lt. Robert Redmond. She said the other cars were going too slow, so “she pushed them.”
The other driver called police at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, when the woman fled, he said. Neither vehicle was seriously damaged.
Officers pulled the woman over a short distance away. She failed sobriety tests and was arrested, Redmond said.
The woman refused a breath test, so police obtained a warrant and sent a sample of her blood to the Michigan State Police toxicology lab, but authorities can’t release her name until test results are available and she is charged, Redmond said.
