Joe took the stanfd yesterday to tell his side of the story. He was consistent and honest.
Dan and the Prosecutor also began and finished closing arguments. Dan explained how Joe, Jack, Tom and their families are all victims in this case. He reiterated the inconsistency in Jack’s stories, the leniency Tom received for his testimony and the lack of evidence or investigation from Police. He asked the jury to make things right and help all the families find some closure by finding Joe innocent.
The jury went out at around 3:00 p.m. after instructions from the Judge. At 5:00 p.m. they sent in a note saying there was no way they could come to a unanimous vote on 3 of the 4 charges. The Judge asked them to please try for another hour and then dismissed them around 6 p.m.
Deliberations resumed at 9 a.m. this morning.
I’ll keep you posted when we know more.
